Merlin's Place

Merlin’s Place,located in the heart of Gentilly, specializes in preparing local cuisine. The family-run restaurant that opened in 2008 is the inspiration of Merlin Fleury, best known for his hand-rolled, sausage-sized, beef-stuffed tamales. The tamales are available by the half-dozen and dozen. Another customer favorite is the roast beef po-boy made with tender slices of succulent beef prepared in gravy and served on toasted  Gendusa  bread. Several home-made signature item sare housed on the menu and include red beans, meatballs and spaghetti, cabbage and rice, pork chops, fried chicken, onion rings, gumbo, chili, and hot sausage.
